mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna

Burneo Garden Design developed the planting concept for the courtyard greening of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, located on the historic grounds of the Salesian Order near Belvedere Palace.

The desire for natural planting beds with edible elements was realized through flowing grasses, fragrant herbs, sweet alpine strawberries, and bright red ornamental apple trees.

The project was carried out and implemented by landscape architect Ralf Dopheide as part of a research project.

Villa Garden in the Cottage District

Burneo Garden Design maintains and further develops the design of this elegant villa garden in close cooperation with the English garden design studio Kalnóky-Wood, which was also responsible for the original planning. This ongoing collaboration continues to meet the owners’ highest satisfaction.

The garden gains its distinctive structure through hornbeam espaliers and magnificent evergreen yew hedges, giving it a special character throughout the entire year.

From lush white blooms of the woodland hydrangea ‘Strong Annabelle’ to crocus-planted lawns with multi-stemmed serviceberry trees, this garden is a true highlight of the district.

A Hidden Gem for the Family

The smaller the garden, the greater the creativity required. Guided by this principle, Burneo Garden Design and Dopheide Gartengestaltung created a true garden gem for a young family.

By planting willow-leaved pear trees, whose foliage closely resembles that of olive trees, the wish for a playful Mediterranean flair and increased privacy was beautifully fulfilled.

Through thoughtful structuring of the garden, the available space was used to its full potential, creating areas for play, edible shrubs and raised beds, as well as cheerful perennial borders in shades of violet, pink, and white that continue to delight the eye even in winter.

Dream Balcony, Family Dr. P.

„Ms. Mag. Reck Burneo realized our dream balcony through professional consultation and planning, combined with a deep love for nature and design. We enjoy a rich interplay of foliage and blossoms throughout all four seasons. High-quality, durable materials were chosen for the seating furniture and planters. A fountain provides a soothing background sound, and a small edible garden was lovingly created for our daughter. The result is a wonderful oasis for the entire family.“

Dream Balcony, Ms. Mag. F., 1180 Wien

,,With the help of Lisa Reck Burneo, I was able to realize my dream balcony in Vienna’s Währing district. With great dedication, expertise, and attention to detail, Lisa selected the perfect plants for my southwest-facing balcony. She also beautifully translated my preferred blue and purple color palette and my inspirations from the Chelsea Flower Show in London to my Vienna balcony. The finishing touches were Lisa’s ideas for balcony furniture and lighting, as well as her confident guidance in choosing the right color for the awning.
